SUMMARY
Bering Global Solutions, a subsidiary of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is currently seeking a qualified Sr. Software Engineer for a contract in the Ft Belvoir VA area. The senior software engineer will develop software solutions based upon client requirements.  Performs database administration/information assurance functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are

Develops technical documentation detailing the project design parameters
Collaborates with system engineers, architects, others to plan, design, develop, test and maintain applications
Collects and documents user requirements
Prepares, manuals, reports and other documentation on the status of operation and maintenance of software application software
Designs, develops and unit tests applications in accordance with established standards
Participates in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code
Packages and supports deployment of software releases
Develops, defines and tunes integrations and interfaces
Configures services in applications for performance, security and error handling
Analyzes and resolves technical and application problems
Assesses opportunities for application and process improvement
Assists in determining and enforcing development standards and best practices
Performs application related Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG) and vulnerability reporting

Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s)
Two (2) years’ experience leading development of software products.
Five (5) years of programming experience with .NET (3.5 ) technologies (ASP.NET / C#).
Must possess an Information Assurance Technical (IAT) II certification (e.g., CompTIA Security )
Must possess a relevant computing environment certification
Must have or be able to attain a Federal government Public Trust background check; requires U.S. citizenship
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics
Ability to lead overall software engineering strategy in coordination with DevSecOps and security personnel.
Hands-on knowledge of the .NET Framework (3.5, 4.0 and/or 4.5), including Visual Studio, TFS, C#, ASP.NET (Web Forms and Web API) Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage time efficiently.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) and computer science foundations, such as memory management and low-level algorithm performance.
Good understanding of Web technologies (HTML, JavaScript, jQuery and CSS).
Experience in one or more automation languages (CLI, Python, Ruby, PowerShell).
Thorough understanding of infrastructure automation, CI/CD, networking, storage and cloud-based delivery models.
Working knowledge of development tools such as source control (Source Anywhere, TFS, Subversion, build server, etc.) and continuous integration build practices.
Experience in designing secure applications and awareness of security implications from design to implementation phase of project.
 Experience with performance analysis, profiling and optimization.
High initiative, self-motivation and drive to exceed expectations.
Ability to design and implement end-to-end enterprise reporting and transactional database systems, including data structures, stored procedures, and error handling.
Troubleshooting application and database related bugs
Previous experience and full understanding of full life cycle development.
Experience working with Visual Studio.
Ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment.
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and software as required.
Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills.
Deadline focused, detail oriented, well organized and self-motivated

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work Environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be borne by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. 
Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system. The work described herein is primarily a modern office setting. Occasional travel may be required.
