This is an opportunity to join the Personal Insurance Business Technology – Business Intelligence & Analytics Team (PIBT BI&A). The person hired will perform as a manager and lead of Data Integration and software development teams and will lead teams in various technologies and platforms including Ab Initio, .Net, Teradata, and Hadoop.
Individual will need to participate in project planning and initiation, architectural decisions, technical design, and implementation of Business Intelligence systems. Direct, mentor, and lead the work of Developers with a strong focus on delivery and execution on a daily basis.
Education, Work Experience & Knowledge:
Minimum 5 years of experience managing and delivering Data warehouse/Data Integration/Business Intelligence projects.
Hands on Software development experience in Data Warehouse/Data Integration/Business Intelligence domain.
Experience managing technical teams
Experience and in-depth knowledge of the full suite of Ab Initio tools including GDE, EME, BRE, ExpressIt, ConductIt, Data Profiler, and Metadata Hub
Experience in one or more ETL/Data Integration platforms
Hands on experience with .Net, Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), and deploying applications to the cloud
Hands on experience in one or more Database platforms (Teradata experience a plus)
Hands on experience and proficiency with Unix/Linux and Korn shell scripting
Hands on experience with Big Data/Hadoop. Working knowledge of HIVE, Java, Python, and/or MapReduce
Strong knowledge, use, and implementation of BI/DW development methodologies, standards and best practices.
Extensive experience with Agile practices (Kanban, Scrum, or Extreme Programing)
Willingness to be a coach and mentor to more junior staff members
Planning at an operational level and managing the effective use of resources. Solid project management skills and leadership of assigned staff
Strong financial awareness making sure our department, software, hardware, and projects are within budgets
Demonstrate strong people, communication and relationship management skills
Experience in working with external IT vendors in a staff augmentation and/or project collaboration models with large offshore teams
Coordination of large deliverables across various supporting IT areas including SA, QA, Project Management, and Architecture
Working with other BI&A leaders across the enterprise to share and leverage Business Intelligence knowledge
Experience in developing and leveraging metrics to track and report progress of ongoing support and project initiatives
High School diploma or equivalent required. 5 years of technology or business related experience required.
