PR Newswire is looking for a passionate, hard-working and experienced .NET Software Developer to join our A-team of talented developers. Candidate will be responsible for design, coding, code review, build management, test planning, testing, deployment and production support.
We are looking for talented developers to join our team, with a focus on developing and deploying slick-interactive web application using predominately the Microsoft technology stack.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Modify existing programs to conform to system changes or to make improvements in existing programs on moderately complex projects
• Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections
• Work with business users to proactively identify and define enhancements to existing business systems and processes
• Understand business requirements and prepare functional specifications, participate in UAT and produce associated documentation
• Ensure that stakeholder requirements are modeled into unambiguous software design artifacts
• Identify opportunities that can improve efficiency of business processes
• Apply creative thinking to identify how technology can be applied to solve real business problems and achieve tangible business goals
• Assist in development and/or review of software test plans and scenarios which are traceable to original requirements, to ensure successful delivery and acceptance of software systems
• Help to analyze and solve day-to-day issues that occur within the applications
• Assist in managing an outsource relationship for 3rd party application development and programming consultants
Qualifications/Skills:.
• Bachelor degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent formal training
• At least 5 years of prior work experience in a similar role.
• Excellent verbal and oral communication skills, including document writing, diagrams, presentation, white boarding and workshop facilitation
• Experience in Microsoft .NET, MS SQL Server, .NET Framework (C#), MVC framework, jQuery/Javascript, Ajax/JSON, CSS, and WCF
• Technical experience with systems, networking, databases, Web development, and user support
• Ability to balance technical and business issues as well as communicate appropriately with both technical and business experts
• Good working knowledge skills with Microsoft Office Products, Microsoft Visio, and MS Project
• Ability to negotiate priorities and to resolve conflicts among project stakeholders
• Able to interact at all levels, up to and including CEO, within the organization
OTHER HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
• Working knowledge of other requirements trawling techniques like brainstorming, apprenticing, etc
• Certifications / training in UML and business analysis
• Working knowledge of Agile Software Development Scrum methodology
• Exposure to software testing process
• Experience working with offshore teams
• Exposure to structured methodologies would be a distinct advantage
• Experience in the development and implementation of standards, procedures and guidelines to support operational processes
• Knowledge of cloud computing.
